Video clips Portrait of Resonance and Chaos is a performative and interactive architecture made of large mechanized pendulums. These pendulums move as a networked system whose motions are precisely controllable and the patterns of their motion are driven by generative algorithms that explore complex harmonics, chaos and fractalizing relationships across their network. This continually reforming space is illuminated by imagery from live video of itself that is processed and mapped back onto the the environment so that motion trails and time-rippling imagery follows the pendulums and the people inside. The opening and closing arms of the pendulums create an immersive passage for the audience to enter and navigate its dance from within.
